OPEN CALL for Hotel Generation – Young Digital Artists Development Programme

Hotel Generation mentors the next generation of UK digital artists during the critical early stages of their careers in the arts. The development programme selects four young digital artists and pairs them with a mentor for online curatorial guidance as they develop an exhibition proposal for arebyte’s exhibition space.

This skills-focused programme culminates in a solo exhibition at arebyte Gallery for one of the four participants, selected by a panel of leading experts from the new media art sector. Hotel Generation aims to equip participants with the confidence to approach galleries, craft clear exhibition proposals, and manage timelines and budgets effectively.

Programme Benefits and Opportunities:

• 5 online curatorial sessions with your mentor in April, May and June 2025
• 2 online production sessions with the arebyte team in April and May 2025
• Weekend in London (accommodation and travel costs covered on the 2nd and 3rd of May 2025)
  
• £1,000 stipend to develop your proposal, experiment with material, equipment or software
• A fully funded solo show to realise your proposal in February – April 2026 if you are selected by the judging panel

Eligibility Criteria:

✷ 18 – 28 year olds
✷ Emerging digital artist
✷ Living in the UK
✷ Not currently enrolled at universities
✷ Attend the weekend workshop in London on 2nd – 3rd May 2025
