Studio Technician – Leicester Print Workshop

We are looking for an experienced and confident print technician to join our lively and friendly studio team, helping us in the day-to-day running and maintenance of the workshop and assisting with the delivery of our programmes. Download the Job Pack here

Specific training will be provided and you will be responsible for providing technical support to workshop users across all techniques and equipment including screen printing; Intaglio processes including Drypoint, Etching, Engraving; Relief processes including Letterpress, Lino, Woodcut; Stone and Photoplate Lithography and Monoprint and Collagraph. 

This role is key in the delivery of LPW’s outreach and events programme including workshops for children, youth and families.

Main Responsibilities of the post

• Provide day-to-day maintenance of the workshop and promote a safe working environment

• Support tutors with the delivery of their courses including preparing course materials and outreach packs
• Support and train studio volunteers and work placement programmes
• Deliver inductions for new studio members
• Responsible for implementing and reviewing LPW’s studio policies including Health and Safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health in line with industry standards
• Support LPW’s public programmes, including education & outreach, exhibitions and commissions
• To act as a keyholder for LPW, and on occasion, respond to out of hours callouts.
