The Start of Something: upcoming events

In November we will hold two events to initiate new conversations.

Meet the Artists – Leicester Print Workshop – Wednesday 9th November 2016, 5.30 – 7.30pm

Delivered in partnership with Leicester Print Workshop for Leicester Art Week.

A free discussion and networking event for artists and curators, exploring issues of maintaining momentum and continuing practice and presenting an opportunity to get together, share experiences, show work and spend time with each other. We hope this will be a catalyst for new relationships, collaborations and networks.

All artists are welcome, regardless of career stage or art practice.

Light refreshments will be served.

The Start of Something – Nottingham Contemporary – Wednesday 16th November, 4 – 6pm

Delivered in partnership with Nottingham Contemporary

This event will present a platform for open discussion and an opportunity for those attending to explore collaboratively what new things could happen in the region and to find out about what projects and ideas are being developed. We hope it will spark ideas, connections and collaborations, to make things happen.

After this event, there will be an opportunity for those who wish to take conversations started here to a further stage, to apply to us for support towards holding a follow up event/activity.

Light refreshments will be served.

Contact us you would like to propose a topic or theme for discussion at this event.

The Start of Something is a project which, through conversation, seeks to bring people in the East Midlands together to explore a common goal, share experience and work collaboratively, ultimately to make things happen. Proposals for new conversations are invited at any time and CVAN EM will consider how it might support a conversation to take place to benefit the widest community and make the greatest difference within the region. Let us know if you would like to propose a topic.
