About
Join sound artist, musician and beatboxer Jason Singh for an exploration of pattern and repetition. Jason’s musical creations are produced by combining fragments of looped audio to create larger compositions and arrangements. He has recently transported this approach to the world of drawing, assembling small leaf structures into visual murmurations.
This workshop will test how these compositions, both aural and visual, could possibly work together, inspiring a conversation across disciplines. Participants will use sound sampling and visual loops, voices and elements of the surrounding woods.
A vegetarian lunch is included. Please come prepared with appropriate clothing and footware for outdoors.
Jason Singh is a composer, musician, sound artist, creative producer, facilitator and performer. His creative output includes unique live beatbox film scores, sound installations, sound design, collaborative experiments with ceramics, textiles and museum objects. He also vocally recreates birdsong and entire forestry environments and his environmental sound works have featured on the BBC programmes Pick of the Year, Imagine, Springwatch and CountryFile.
