People Express, a participatory arts organisation working in and across South Derbyshire are looking to commission an artist(s) for the following event:
National Playday- Wednesday 2nd August 2017
A national day for play in the UK for children and young people. This is a free event held at a Maurice Lea Memorial Park, a local park in Swadlincote and attracts audiences of 5000. This is an extremely popular event with children of all ages and their families.
Event Theme: Superheroes.
Commission
We would like interactive artwork based on these themes so please use as a guide in your proposal. We usually provide a free, drop in activity for all ages at each event and are usually very busy. We are open to new ideas and happy to support you in making your vision a reality. The artwork can be created with local people in the lead up to the event or solely by the artist.
We are looking for a friendly, high quality artist with participatory experience and confident in working at public drop in festivals. You will need an enhanced DBS certificate and public liability insurance.
The commission is £500 for each event.
