Assistant Registrar

Leeds Museums and Galleries seek to appoint an Assistant Registrar to assist in the delivery of high quality and accessible collections management and registration across the service.

This post reports to the Registrar and Collections Manager and will assist in all aspects collections management including the development of policy and procedures, the international loans programme and the collections database.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or hold a professional vocational qualification within a relevant subject/area or equivalent experience, together with knowledge of sectoral standards, experience of collections management and will bring an organised approach.

Leeds Museums and Galleries is the largest local authority museum service in the country and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. We hold one of the most important encyclopaedic collections in the UK with an estimated 1.3 million objects, which include our historic buildings. Four of our collections are Designated.
