Co-production Volunteer And Programme Assistant

We are looking for a Co-production Volunteer and Programme Assistant to support Derby Museums’ dynamic and varied co-production volunteering programme, with particular focus upon our Young Co-producers’ Network.

Are you passionate about working with people to unlock skills and create inspiring experiences? Do you believe in the positive difference volunteering can make for individuals, for projects and for our city? Are you practical, organised and creative?
If the answers are yes, you may be exactly who we are looking for.

The Role

Fostering positive relationships with our inspiring co-production volunteers will be a key part of your role as you support the administration of the Derby Museums co-production volunteer programme. Working across our three brilliant museums, with a range of project partners and across the city of Derby, a key priority will be to further develop, with support, Derby Museums’ Young Co-producers Network and Work Experience programme. This is a chance to co-produce volunteering opportunities with young people, for young people, something we hope you’ll be excited by.

It is a particularly exciting time to join Derby Museums. Our co-production volunteers have taken part in over 30 different volunteer roles so far this year, including 3D scanning museum objects, ‘championing’ our World Collections with visitors; sharing ideas to feed into our exhibitions and events programme and driving forward the first large scale co-produced museum in the UK, the Museum of Making. You will play an important role in supporting the smooth running and further development of this exceptional volunteering programme.
