Museumand is looking for talented curators that think and work beyond traditional forms of exhibition making. These might include visual art, music, talks, screenings, educational events or other kinds of creative output that engage with people from diverse backgrounds – not just of Caribbean descent.
We are looking for people that think out of the box and bring cutting edge ideas to their exhibitions, people that can curate a local exhibition that speaks to individuals in that area but can still be scaled up to have a broader appeal nationally and internationally as we plan to take the exhibition on tour.
The ideal person to fill this role is someone who can use creative and imaginative approaches to stimulate and challenge audiences to question and develop new ideas on the topics we are exploring. We want our exhibitions to showcase, inform and spark conversations while also being a visual treat and triumph.
We are on the look-out for creative producers and art enthusiasts to curate and develop a programme of workshops and arts activities – we don’t expect you to deliver them all yourself. You must be able to work alone and collaboratively. We want an experience that is immersive and that will live long in the public’s memory.
To be successful in the role it would be an asset if you could:
-manage a team of volunteers
-manage a budget
-project manage
-communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
-have an enthusiastic approach
This position is open to everyone and not just those that are Caribbean or of Caribbean descent. The closing date is 7th August 2017.
Location- Museumand is based in Nottingham, but you can be based anywhere in UK. We are a National organisation and work in many cities across the UK.
