Design Team Artist(s) – Brighouse Accelerator Public Art Project

Brighouse Town Deal Board and Calderdale Council have commissioned a design team lead by Xanthe Quayle Landscape Architects and including Working pArts public art consultants to develop design proposals for 3 key but compact areas of Brighouse Town Centre.

We now want to commission one or more artists to work in collaboration with the Design Team to develop initial ideas into deliverable projects.  We are looking for an artist or artists with knowledge of typography/graphic design/surface pattern and/or text based art and with a good eye for colour and sculptural form. People with an interest in and experience of working collaboratively are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submission is 2.00pm on Sunday December the 20th.  We would hope to make and disseminate our selection on or around the 21st Dec. The timescale is very tight due to the deadlines attached to Government funding. The resulting works will need to be installed by the end of March 2021. Please bear this in mind when considering your availability.
