Established in 2002, Bloc Projects is a contemporary arts organisation in the centre of Sheffield. We focus on the support and development of contemporary artists at pivotal points of their careers. We provide a safe and stimulating environment that is free for the public to explore ideas and creative practices. We work closely with other local art organisations, universities and charities to ensure that our activities welcome a diverse and intergenerational demographic. Our expansive programme provides opportunities for cross-disciplinary and participatory learning, meaningful arts engagement, and skill development for creative practitioners as well as wider publics.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and strategic individual to take Bloc Projects forward, building future resilience whilst developing Bloc Projects’ long established programme and profile as a hub for artists’ talent development. Bloc Projects aims to apply for NPO status in the next round, so part of the role is to lead the organisation towards successfully achieving this ambition.

You will have a proven ability to build and maintain strong partnerships, to curate and project manage art events and to deliver a dynamic programme of activity supporting artists’ talent development and the sustainability of the organisation. The ability to identify opportunities for development and revenue creation as well as experience of funding applications and fundraising is essential.

Positive, well organised and self-motivated you will be ready to lead the organisation into a new phase of ambitious activity.
