Opportunity for early career artists

The Investigate Learning Team are looking to commission artists to bring to life our new Arts Award resources linked to our new Creative Arts Kits. These commissions have been made possible due to our Art Fund Respond and Reimagine grant award.

There are four Creative Arts Kits on the themes of Environments, Identities, Societies and Lincoln. These kits feature reproductions of art works held by The Collection Museum and Usher Gallery. The Arts Award resources will help younger audiences explore the art works and create their own responses.

We would like to commission four artists to create a bespoke style for each of the four creative arts kits. This might be in the form of a set of illustrations, or a complete template design. The commissioned artists will be asked to provide the design element and the learning team will provide all written content. The final work should be provided to us in digital format.

We are looking to work with artists who are at an early stage* of their career and living or studying in Lincolnshire. Candidates who have faced cultural, social, physical or economic barriers to applying for opportunities in the arts are particularly encouraged to apply.  Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

*We accept that the ‘early stage or your career’ may be different for everyone.

Project Overview:

The successful applicants will work with the Learning Officer to produce an Arts Award resource relating to their assigned kit theme. The artists will each be paid £500 for the project. We anticipate the project will be delivered between April and June 2021.
