Projects & Development Manager (Arts)

It is an exciting time to join Warwick District Council’s Arts Section!

The Arts Section is part of the wider Cultural Services team at Warwick District Council and operates several key cultural facilities in Royal Leamington Spa including the Royal Spa Centre which is the district’s only professional theatre. A medium size receiving house, it delivers a programme of theatre, drama, comedy, film and community events in its 667-seat main house and 188-seat studio theatre/ cinema. The Royal Pump Rooms in Leamington is a cultural and tourist attraction with services including Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum. The Arts team are also responsible for Leamington Town Hall, which has a mixture of tenants and has hireable spaces for community events. The team also supports a variety of professional and community arts organisations based in the District through advice, advocacy and grant funding.

We are searching for an experienced, creative and motivated project manager to lead on a wide variety of arts projects and to assist the Arts Manager to develop the outward facing, strategic elements of the service in order to increase attendance to and participation in the Arts within Warwick District and develop its creative infrastructure.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Working closely with the Arts Manager to identify and implement opportunities for service development (including programmes of work, improved processes, the development of new income streams, collaboration with the private sector, preparing grant applications and business cases)
  • Providing specialist professional marketing advice and assisting the Arts Section’s Programming & Marketing team with the development and implementation of a marketing strategy
  • Assisting the Arts Manager with identifying new innovative and sustainable routes for creating significantly greater value and impact within the District’s creative sector
  • Acting as project manager and designing, planning and delivering key Arts projects including feasibility and viability assessments, project plans and procurement strategies
  • Assisting the Arts Manager to prepare reports for relevant bodies as necessary and delivering presentations
