Yorkshire Visual Arts Network (YVAN) is looking to recruit a freelance Marketing post: January – March 2021 (with potential to extend)
KEY OUTPUTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
● To support and deliver YVAN’s commitment to open and democratic communications across its broad network of regional artists and organisations through online and print-based media
● To explore and review approaches to broaden and deepen the profile of artists
● To be aware at all times of the implications of diversity for the arts, and to promote a diverse perspective in all activities undertaken
1. Publicity, Marketing and Communications
● Providing marketing, publicity and communications services for the network:
◦ Regular updating of social media accounts
◦ Promotion of YVAN events & programmes
◦ Help develop a marketing and communications strategy
◦ Other responsibilities as agreed.
2. Market Analysis & User Reports
● Produce user analysis reports for the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis showing trends and patterns in line with YVAN’s strategic plan
● Propose strategies to increase usage and marketability in report form for Board of Directors
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Freelance Worker will in addition to the specific requirements for any particular job set out in this Schedule to this Agreement or detailed on an Order Form:
● Create a consistent set of messages with the YVAN team for sharing each week.
● Through individual projects contribute to marketing and comms through social media outlets
● Report back statistics to inform targeted media campaigns.
● Represent YVAN at meetings and events, where appropriate

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Independence, a positive attitude, patience.
● Good with words
● A wizard across social media platforms (scheduling, engaging artists, sector professionals and organisations, cross-promotion)
● Understanding of the regional visual arts sector and communication outlets
● Good personal communications
● Ethical & anti racist
● Use digital services like scheduling tools such as Trello.
● Organised and effective time-management to meet deadlines
