Temporary Workshop Assistant

Could you help us to make the Museum of Making at Derby Silk Mill? Are you passionate about using your skills to engage people in all types of making? We are seeking a Temporary Workshop Assistant to support the delivery of the Museum of Making co-production programme.

If you are experienced in a workshop setting and are have skills in manufacture using traditional techniques and contemporary machinery and technologies, this could be the role for you. Derby Museums are seeking a Temporary Workshop Assistant to support the delivery of the Museum of Making co-production programme. Working closely with the Workshop Supervisor, project team and our co-production volunteers, you will deliver a number of key elements including: engaging people in the manufacture of displays and furniture for the Museum of Making; maintaining and operating workshop equipment and software; delivering inductions and training; and ensuring that machinery and materials are used appropriately and efficiently.
