Tokyo Wonder Site Residency

Program Description:

Tokyo Wonder Site Residency (TWS Residency) offers artist-in-residence programs for international creators working in creative fields such as art, design, music and architecture to stay, engage in creation and conduct research activities. It also provides creators with the opportunities to exchange creative ideas and to present the results of their residency at Open Studio, talk and other events.

The open-call program ‘International Creator Residency Program’ aims to invite established and
highly motivated international creators in the field of visual art, architecture, design, curation and
administration and to give opportunities for talented creators from Asia to work in Tokyo. We offer
financial support to allow creators to develop and present new works and ideas.
We are now calling for “International Creator Residency Program,” aimed at international creators
and administrators who are willing to perform new creative activities through the residency.

Duration: 3 months

Eligibility: Applicants must reside in the outside of Japan, and have 5 years or more of experience in his/her own area. They must have enough English skill to communicate with other residents and are Independent and capable of working and living on his/her own. *Creators working as a duo are also eligible.

Support: Airfare, per diem and artist fee/project fee, self-contained single room, shared studio. * In principle, a single room will be provided for the stay by the participating creator only. A twin 2 International Creator Residency Program 2018 Application Outline bed room will be provided to creators applying as a duo.

Costs: Own living expenses during the stay.

② From the beginning of September, 2018 to the end of November, 2018
③ From the beginning of January, 2019 to the end of March, 2019

2 creators for each period/ 6 creators in total are to be selected
