Workshop Facilitators

We are currently seeking five creative facilitators to develop and deliver a local learning focused workshop at the City Classroom Partnerships upcoming children and young people’s summit, ‘In Search of Creativity’.

The event is seeking to understand the value of creativity – what do young people think of art, creativity, culture? What is it for, where is it found and how it can be used?

100 children from ten primary and SEN schools across the city will become Creative Agents for the day and each workshop should be designed to give them the opportunity to talk about and express their feelings and thoughts about being, becoming and belonging in Leicester.

Each artist will be required to explore how creativity can be used as a tool for expressing identity, history and other subjects and how it can create a framework for children to have political conversations through art.

The workshops should give young people the opportunity to talk about creativity through activity, allow them to understand the creative process and produce answers to our overarching questions.

Each workshop will be 50 minutes long and delivered 3 times throughout the day with different groups of approximately twenty year 4/5 and SEN children. The children will be cultural ambassadors for their school and will also have to report back on their findings from the day.

Please submit an expression of interest, in no more than 500 words, detailing:

• Your workshop idea, art forms involved and how it links to the events goals.

• The approach that you will take towards creating a workshop with measurable outcomes.

• How you would differentiate the activity for children with SEN.

• Any experience you have with Arts Award delivery.

• Summit date: Friday 8th July 2016 @ Attenborough Arts Centre. (9.15am to 2.30pm)
