Scarborough Museums Trust (SMT) is looking to commission an Art Educator/Artist to work in collaboration with SMT to devise a new online resource – Arts Award Discover at Home.
SMT have a commitment to delivering Arts Award and in response to Covid-19 we would like to move our offer online. The offer will, in the first instance, be aimed at families (including those home schooling) but needs to be easily adaptable and longer term may be used as a resource for schools. It is envisaged SMT Arts Award Discover at Home will consist of the following:
- Introduction to Arts Award Discover
- Instructions for completing each stage of Arts Award Discover
- A range of creative activities linked to SMT’s collection
- An SMT Arts Award Discover booklet available as an editable word document
- An SMT Interim Certificate on completion
- Celebratory Arts Award at Home launch event
The resource will need to creatively use and respond to SMT’s Digital Access Principles.
The candidate will need the following skills and/or interests:
- Good working knowledge of Arts Award Discover
- Expertise in developing engaging resources for children/families
- An ability to consider different minds and bodies and creatively incorporate access needs
- Expertise in devising and delivering resources digitally.
We are especially interested to hear from Art Educators/Artists with an interest in:
- Prints and Printmaking (The Printmakers Council makes an annual deposition to SMT)
- The Natural World and Environmental Sustainability (A significant proportion of our collections reflect the natural world and we have outstanding local topography.)
