This Summer, Modern Painters, New Decorators will host the group exhibition ‘Earthling’, our first in-person exhibition of the year and our 2021 Members’ show.

‘Earthling’ can be seen at the Modern Painters, New Decorator’s gallery space, in Carillon Court Shopping Centre, from 19th June until 31st July 2021.

The Members’ show surrounds the theme of world-building and features painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, textile, and installation.

The exhibition showcases a broad mix of styles, but all reflect the theme of world-building: the process of imagining new fictional worlds, where entire imagined universes are constructed with specific rules and processes. This theme of world-building was chosen to recognise the importance of possibilities after a year of limitations, to provoke new ways of imagining and to celebrate our gallery space as a place of potential.

The exhibition features work by: Ama Dogbe, Amber Jesson, David John Scarborough, James Milner, Kate Robotham, Magda Vaughan, Molly Stocks, Phoebe Mae Ellis, Selene States and Tayler Fisher.
