Two Queens presents James Parkinson’s show ‘Ablat’.

Parkinson’s practice uses processes of material translation to re-code and re-contextualise notions of space, object, and body. Pliant surfaces once used to cover, to dress, and to enclose, create an elastic volume highly responsive to the impact of the occupant. The abundance of mass accepts a range of contours inscribed through movement and positioning. Determined by this behaviour, a range of tangible artefacts are produced, in the same way a glove takes on the character of the hand that wears it.
