Opening on 28 January, this exhibition brings together watercolours by renowned British painter, David Remfry MBE RA, in a celebration of scale, colour and movement.
Remfry constantly challenges the stereotypes of watercolour painting, defying conventions of small, polite landscapes and domestic studies. His watercolours depict people dancing in clubs, bars and dancehalls capturing movement and intimacy on an ambitious scale. His portraits feature famous faces such as actor Alan Cumming, and fashion designers Stella McCartney and Dame Zandra Rhodes.
David Remfry: A Moment Captured is on display from 28 January until 1 May 2023. The Usher Gallery is open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 4pm, entry is free.
