Fermynwoods Contemporary Art is an educational charity that supports life through art by commissioning innovative and meaningful ways for artists to engage with audiences, in public spaces across Northamptonshire and online.
Fermynwoods has grown from a single gallery and office space in Brigstock, Northants in 1998 to a peripatetic entity today
serving communities across the county and beyond while still treasuring our roots in the
fields and forests of Northamptonshire.
For over 25 years our small organisation has been making a big impact for people and communities across Northamptonshire and beyond. We deliver a year-round programme of artist residencies, exhibitions and events, an online programme of exhibitions, podcasts and workshops, plus innovative education programmes with young people not in mainstream education.
Due to the increase in demand for our innovative Alternative Provision programme Fermynwoods are looking to expand their pool of Visual Arts Youth Workers.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Visual Arts Youth Worker will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day delivery of
Fermynwoods Contemporary Art’s Alternative Provision.
Working closely with the Education Curator and colleagues in the Visual Arts Youth
Worker Team, you will ensure that students gain the most out of the time they spend with us, supporting their engagement to work with a variety of national and international artists – encouraging young people to explore their creativity and grow their skills.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, an understanding of the challenges
young people excluded from mainstream education face, along with a positive and adaptable approach.
Examples of the types of activity you will support young people to engage in can be found at : www.fermynwoods.org/ce-academy-yearbook-2022-23
