Salon 8 - Contemporary Art Show - Opens - 22nd April 6-9pm. Salon 8 then continues 23rd & 24th April 11-4pm. Please do join us for the preview evening of Salon 8. We are extremely excited to be exhibiting the work of 10 contemporary artists: Rebecca Appleby, Paul Behnke, Jackie Berridge, Claudia Boese, Lisa Denyer, Geoff Diego Litherland, Terry Greene, Mandy Payne, Rachael Pinks and Clay Smith. Salon 8 is a co-curated exhibition by Rachael Pinks and Clay Smith - usually a one night only event - but by popular demand/request Salon 8 will continue for 2 further dates: 23rd & 24th April 11-4pm. All works within the exhibition are for sale. Salon was co-founded in 2012 by Rachael Pinks & Clay Smith - with the aim of bringing contemporary art into a rural Derbyshire location. The Old Lock Up is a historical building and part of the UNESCO World Heritage site itself - The Lock Up was one of the first dwellings in the village of Cromford which then became the village jail in the 1780's - part of Sir Richard Arkwrights Mill complex - the very beginnings of the Industrial Revolution.
