About
Join us for a thought-provoking day of talks and discussions exploring the impact of emerging technologies on the art world.
From distributed communities to virtual marketplaces, new technologies are creating both possibilities and challenges for artists seeking to engage audiences and for institutions looking to stay relevant.
At this event, academics, artists, and institutions will come together to discuss the ways in which technology is transforming the art world.
Speakers will include:
Uzma Johal & Samantha Lindley – Threshold Studios is a creative and cultural agency that uses art and technology to create social change and solve problems. Their work includes commissioning new art projects, talent development, and placemaking consultancy, and they are best known for their biennial Frequency Festival in Lincoln and their Digital Democracies project exploring the intersection of technology, art, and public space.
Antonio Roberts is a Birmingham-based artist and curator whose work primarily deals with themes of network culture, exploring the intersection of technology and creativity. His work has been featured at major galleries and festivals, and he has curated exhibitions and projects including “No Copyright Infringement Intended” and is an active performer in the AlgoRave community.
