About
A salon hosted by CAMEo . Thursday 27 April 2017, 6:30-8:30 at The Exchange, Leicester
For CAMEo’s first salon we are bringing together publishers, activists, cultural practitioners and academics to discuss creativity, activism and social change. We’re asking what challenges and opportunities are there for politically-engaged creative producers and activists working in cultural production at a time of austerity and political crises? And what sets such cultural production apart from other kinds of creative practice, cultural work and activism?
Speakers include Anni Movsisyan from the activist collective sorryyoufeeluncomfortable, Jess Bain on Pussyhats and Marc Herbst from Journal of Aesthetics and Protest. We will also be launching the first PLANK zine “Techniques of Art and Protest”.
The event will be held at The Exchange, Leicester.
