About
Our regular talk night returns. How do artists dream up ideas and then make them a reality? Join us for an evening of talks by creatives from the East Midlands. At Show & Tell, we’ll hear from the organisers of The Urban Forest, a community space bringing the essence of Charnwood Forest into Loughborough Town. We’ll also hear from one of the artists behind ‘Our Common Mercies’, an exhibition celebrating collective making and hospitality. Our bar, shop and gallery will be open all evening.
About our Speakers
The Urban Forest is a multipurpose community arts venue developed by collaborating with Charnwood Arts and Charnwood Forest. The Urban Forest has provided a welcoming space for a diverse audience by presenting large-scale sculptures, temporary exhibitions and pop-up workshops. As the venue closes, the organisers will reflect on the project and how it grew.
Ursula Rose Rae is an artist and Learning Programmer developing and delivering a workshop programme with young people to co-produce artworks. A multimedia artist with a background in textiles, her practice is rooted in process and tactile exploration. She has produced work for Nottingham Contemporary, Attenborough Arts Centre and Derby Museums. Ursula will talk us through her ways of working and how our current exhibition developed by ‘thinking through making’.
