The 8 Collectives: NTU Fine Art Exhibition
26th—27th April 2023
Opening: Thursday 25th April, 18:00 – 20:00

Surface is pleased to welcome The 8 Collectives, an exhibition by second-year

Fine Art students from Nottingham Trent University.

The 8 Collectives is the latest culmination of collaborative work by second-year Fine Art students from Nottingham Trent University.  With provocations and models from existing East Midlands art collectives, each student collective has developed its own approach, which they have put into action during a short residency at Surface to produce work for the subsequent exhibition. The students have been encouraged to think about, and to develop a sustainable practice that is conscious of the community it brings together. The exhibition occupies both floors and consists of eight distinct responses to the space, to collective concerns, and to each other.

The 8 Collectives opens in the Main Gallery and Project Space. As always, there will be a donations bar with ales from the local Pheasantry Brewery.
