Bernie Rutter’s new exhibition Vessels & New Threads, is the combination of experiments, throughout the last 3 years, with traditional printmaking, digital photography and new techniques, with the aim of beginning to combine these strands. The work focuses on vessel and nest forms and the subtle threads that run through it.

Bernie trained in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University and currently has a studio in Derbyshire.  Originally from the industrial heartland of West Midlands, she is fascinated by process, by the alchemy of change, by pressure, by heat, by the intervention of human invention.

Included in the work are a series of digital and painterly prints developed in collaboration with painter Vitor Azevedo. The work was created by each artist working and reworking over an image, each stage scanned and printed on to Aluminium.
