OPEM 4

OPEM is the 4th biennial open exhibition at The Collection, Lincoln, for artists living or working in the East Midlands and Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, North & North East Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire & East Riding.

All selected artists will receive funding to create a new work for the exhibition.

Elinor Morgan – Curator and Writer, Senior curator MIMA
Brian Griffiths – Artist and Tutor RA schools, recent solo shows, BALTIC, Tramway.

• All selected artists will receive a fee of £250 and up to £350 towards materials to produce a new piece of work to be displayed in the exhibition.
• Entry fee £10
• For students, emerging and established artists
• Exhibition at The Collection in our main New Curtois Gallery, Lincolnshire’s leading venue for national and international contemporary visual arts.
• Artists will be chosen to display a substantial representative work or number of works.
• Applications are invited from contemporary artists working in any media including performance, live art and sound.

All entrants are invited to display their work in the Opem4 online gallery, details of how to upload images will be sent to you on receipt of your application.

Purchase prize or commission – £3000
Sponsored by The Heslam Trust for a work of art for The Collection or public display in Lincoln.

Solo exhibition in the Usher Gallery
The recipient will receive a fully funded solo show in the Usher Gallery in February 2018.

How to enter
To complete the online application you will need:
1. Your Name, address, age, postcode, phone number and email address
2. Title, date, size/duration and medium information for up to 6 works.
3. Up to six image files in any of the following formats: TIF or JPEG.We recommend a maximum resolution of 72dpi and maximum pixel dimensions of 1024 pixels wide or high or up to 2MB in size as your work will be projected for judging purposes.
Files larger the 2mb will not be accepted.

A link and password to the video on either Youtube or Vimeo. Videos or show reels should be no longer then 4 minutes and one video/showreel can be submitted

All files should be named in the following format:

FIRSTNAME_SECONDNAME_TITLE OF WORK

4. An artist statement of up to 150 words.
5.  Entry fee £10 Payable by credit and debit card.
