The Leeds University Library Galleries (part of Special Collections) – including the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery and the newly-launched Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery (supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and private donations) – are undertaking a period of development as a joint public attraction on the University of Leeds campus. The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery is also fully engaged in the University’s ongoing public art programme, launched in 2015, particularly in its 2016 Year of the Textile themed activities. The University Art Collection comprises some 3,500 artworks; a selection is displayed in the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, alongside a programme of temporary exhibitions, displays and linked events. You will have responsibility for the delivery and management of the Gallery’s exhibitions and displays, and will provide the main point of contact to academics, students and the general public in relation to this. You will also liaise with the Cultural Institute and lead the Gallery team in developing event programmes linked to the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery and public art, to engage a wide audience on campus and beyond.

With either a professional qualification or significant relevant experience, you will combine extensive and successful managerial and leadership experience with your professional exhibitions expertise, especially in fine art. You will have a track record of developing innovative exhibitions and events within a museum, gallery or HE environment.
