ATLAS Arts, an award-winning, producer and commissioner of contemporary art that creates connections between artists and audiences in the unique context of the Hebrides landscape, is looking to appoint an Artistic Director/CEO.  This is a newly revised role carrying overall responsibility for the strategic direction, bold programming and sustainability of the organisation in the future.

ATLAS Arts, founded in 2010 to fill the gap in contemporary art provision on the Isle of Skye and the West Coast of Scotland, has developed a distinct curatorial practice and identity, becoming a key player in the ecology of arts organisations working in Scotland and demonstrating best practice in terms of place-driven, socially engaged practice.  It showcases a high quality of artistic talent in its rural setting through commissions, research projects, film screenings, specific events, exhibitions, installations, performances, partnerships and creative learning programmes.

In the new Artistic Director, ATLAS Arts seeks an accomplished curator with experience of delivering vibrant, inter-disciplinary arts programmes.  They will have a keen interest in the rural context of Skye and a track record of working with communities in an engaging programme in which learning, artistic production and talent development are integral to the operation.  They will have the ability to provide inspirational leadership and sound management to the Executive Director and the small team.  They will have excellent interpersonal skills and experience of raising funds and will be excited by the opportunity of continuing to develop ATLAS Arts as an important contributor to the creative vibrancy of Scottish arts.
