rEvive is an Arts Council England and Erewash Borough Council funded project aiming to promote the work of artists, develop creative work in the Borough and to provide new audiences for work that is shown. We are very pleased to announce six funded residency opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists.
The main home for the work will be Erewash Museum in Ilkeston, and we can also accommodate artists in two other venues in the town. In addition, we are happy to discuss other local sites that artists may want to explore.
We are seeking applications from emerging and mid-career artists with three residency opportunities available in each category. The focus is on contemporary visual practice, which can include live art, sound, artists’ film and video work, and interdisciplinary art practices. A minimum of two of the residencies will be given to artists that propose work specifically responding to the space in which they are based, though it is hoped that all work will be shaped by the environment in which it is created to some degree. A minimum of two residencies will be reserved specifically for artists either from the borough or with strong family or work connections to here.
