Arts facilitator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Pavilion team on the development and delivery of Art School for Rebel Girls, a new initiative generously sponsored by Soroptimist Leeds. We are looking for a freelance arts facilitator who will design and deliver a monthly art club programme in collaboration with two Leeds schools. The activity can be determined by the postholder but it is expected will include film screenings, visual art-making, drama exercises, field trips and discussion-based activity. The postholder will also design and deliver a two week Summer Art School in August 2018 that will lead to a public arts output. In addition, the postholder will recruit a group of student volunteers to support the project. The programme aims to use art as a means of empowerment, supporting young women to address social pressures. It  also aims to engage participants with stories of women in Leeds past and present who have defied expectations and rebelled against the status quo. In so doing, this programme seeks to maintain and build aspirations among the young women who participate.
