Audience Development Manager (maternity cover)

Audiences are at the heart of Leeds Museums & Galleries’ work and the Audience Development team plays a vital role in this across marketing and PR, audience research and digital engagement. The Audience Development Manager leads the team and is part of Leeds Museums & Galleries’ senior management team.

This post will join Leeds Museums & Galleries at an exciting time, having recently undergone rebranding its attractions and launched a new website. The Audience Development Manager is responsible for leading on the development of audience development, marketing and digital content strategies across a large museum service.

We are looking for someone to cover maternity leave and bring an understanding of audience development that delivers ‘the bigger picture’ and contributes to make Leeds Museums & Galleries relevant, innovative and outward facing.

Key roles include:

  • Lead and develop Leeds Museums & Galleries in all its audience development and marketing needs, ensuring the service maximises footfall, income and social targets, and reflect service, corporate and partners’ priorities.Effectively lead, manage and develop a team to achieve agreed outcomes based on the priorities of Leeds Museums & Galleries.
  • Deliver high standards, ensuring all Leeds Museums & Galleries content and materials are quality assured and systems and applications are monitored and maintained.
  • Ensure Leeds Museums & Galleries continues to innovate and develop, particularly in digital.

The post is funded by Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisation status and is temporary maternity cover from February 2020 – December 2020.
