Audience Development Manager

Audiences are at the heart of Leeds Museums and Galleries’ work and the Audience Development team plays a vital role in this across marketing and PR, audience research and digital engagement. The Audience Development Manager leads the team and is part of Leeds Museums and Galleries’ senior management team.

Funded through Arts Council England’s Major Partner Museum Programme, key elements of the Audience Development team’s role are to attract larger and more representative audiences to our museums, to invest in audience development, marketing and PR to reach our audience and ensure they are more engaged and involved in what we do. The team works with colleagues across Leeds Museums and Galleries and beyond.

We are looking for someone to bring a coherent approach to audience development that delivers ‘the bigger picture’ and contributes to making Leeds Museums and Galleries relevant, innovative and outward facing.

Key roles include :

• Lead and develop Leeds Museums and Galleries in all its audience development needs, ensuring the service maximises footfall, income and social targets, and reflect service, corporate and partners’ priorities.
• Effectively lead, manage and develop a team to achieve agreed outcomes based on Leeds Museums and Galleries’ needs and priorities.
• Deliver high standards, ensuring all Leeds Museums and Galleries content and materials are quality assured and systems and applications are monitored and maintained.
• Ensure Leeds Museums and Galleries continues to innovate, particularly in digital.

The post is funded by Arts Council England is fixed term until 31st March 2018 when current Major Partner Museum funding is in place until. Extension beyond this date is subject to further funding being in place.
