Hereford College of Arts is the only independent and dedicated arts college with a specialist focus on art, media, design, popular music and performing arts. We offer eleven undergraduate degrees and two masters’ programmes, alongside a range of pre-degree and short course programmes for students of all ages from twelve onwards.
The College seeks to appoint a highly creative and energetic individual to lead our established and successful BA (Hons) Degree programme in Textile Design Candidates must have a relevant teaching qualification and or experience of teaching at undergraduate level and, although not essential, industry experience is particularly welcome as a basis for their teaching encompassing aspects of surface design, weaving and screen printing and digital print. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate excellent course and line management skills at degree level. An interest and expertise in related areas of practice, including fashion design and fashion accessories would also be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be a demonstrably excellent and innovative teacher and be at ease teaching across theoretical and practical elements of the Textile Design degree programme. It is also desirable that candidates should have an active national profile outside teaching in critical practice or creative practice, or both.
