Attenborough Arts Centre is seeking a pool of experienced professional participatory artists from a range of specialisms, to work with a regular group of Elective Home Educated (EHE) children and young people for 10 week blocks, to co-produce work with them, and help them to celebrate their own creative and artistic talents.
The artists will, through a weekly programme of project activity, develop and deliver a series of interventions/workshops aimed at building on the creativity and interests of the children.
The artist(s) will work alongside the Learning team and families to develop the weekly offer and in doing so provide opportunity for peer learning, creative professional development and confidence in implementing more creative emergent curriculum.
Artists must be Arts Award Advisors, or be willing to undertake training to lead Arts Awards.
Block one: Visual storytelling and bookmaking: January 15th- March 25th 2020
Block two: STEM through dance / movement : April 22nd- July 1st
Block three: Music and rhythm : September 16th – 25th
Sessions run 10am – 12pm on Wednesdays during term time. Additional time allocated for planning and setting up/down. Sessions are supported by AAC staff and parents.
We welcome proposals from experienced participatory artists, musicians and dancers, who are qualified to a degree level or equivalent professional practice, specialising in visual arts / dance / music. Arts Award experience / Arts Award Advisor. Proven track record of working collaboratively with children and young people.
An additional materials budget will be available.
