Curatorial Assistant

Since its opening in 2000, Tate Modern’s programme of major temporary exhibitions, collection displays, commissions, film programmes, live events and projects have developed in diversity, international scope and profile.

You will work primarily on matters relating to international photography, including the planning and delivery of photographic exhibitions at Tate Modern as well as supporting the operation of the acquisitions process and general research for the collection.

You will have a knowledge and interest in international twentieth-century art, particularly the history of photography and an understanding and awareness of issues relating to the display of work in a public gallery as well as excellent research skills including familiarity with key resources for photographic history. You’ll have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, as part of a team and individually, whilst being flexible and providing creative solutions to problems. You will also have a high degree of computer literacy – particularly use of Word, Excel, databases, email and the Internet.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract of 13 months
