QUAD, Derby’s centre for contemporary visual art, are seeking submissions from artists, collaborators and collectives who utilise Robotics or Artificial Intelligence in the production of their artworks, or those who are exploring the concepts, ethics and issues surrounding these subject areas.
Since the dawn of the computer age, technologists, scientists and artists have been working with machines or programmes to produce artworks, from robots that can sketch or paint to software that generates images, music and more. As innovation continues at a rapid pace and access to technology becomes widespread, artists have more opportunities than ever to experiment with new ways of working. We want to see your experimentations with technology.
We are looking for moving image works, photographs and primarily wall-based artworks (although sculptural/ machine objects will be considered).
Selected submission will be exhibited in a new exhibition through QUAD’s Extra Gallery Spaces from 1st July – 3rd September 2017.
