Midlands/London based theatre company Perpetual Motion are looking for an experienced and passionate producer to aid in the development of their debut show The Importance of Walking Lobsters, a show that uses comedy, live music, and inventive scenography to explore the link between eccentricity and genius.
The project entails up to five weeks RnD spread between Leicester and London, these weeks will span between September 2018 and February 2019 with on work in progress date and two performances dates.
Key Information
This role is funding dependent (we should know by September)
There will be a flat producing fee of £2000
You should be free for performance days (26/01/19 and 23/02/19)
Most of the work can be completed remotely
Deadline for applications is 5pm on the 20/08/18
Interviews will take place via skype during the second week of September
Key duties
Liaise with venues re: logistics/marketing
Manage our budget and keep records of expenditure
Aid in the sourcing of equipment/props etc
Liaise with and write up contracts for any external contractors, dramaturgs/mentors/actors etc
Write and submit an arts council evaluation
Work with us to execute and audience development plan
Essential attributes
Experience producing small-medium scale theatre shows
Experience with producing ACE funded projects
Experience in budget management
Access to contacts in the UK theatre/venue network
Highly IT Literate
Good communication skills
Desirable attributes
Experience producing small-medium scale contemporary theatre shows
A passion for contemporary theatre and performance
Some technical knowledge of theatre and performance (experience with sound and lighting)
An interest in eccentricity and eccentric culture/history
