Gallery Assistant

Nottingham Contemporary, one of the UK’s leading and largest centres for contemporary art, is looking for confident communicators to join its Gallery Assistant team.

Gallery Assistants are the public face and voice of the gallery. They offer visitors a friendly and informed welcome to our exhibitions, make sure visitors are safe in our building, and help ensure artworks are protected and secure. They also contribute to delivering Nottingham Contemporary’s various programmes and trading operations, including assisting on our popular workshops for families, helping to set up a wide range of live events, and serving customers in our shop.

We are keen to hear from candidates who are at ease holding conversations with people from all walks of life and eager to get involved in live events.

Information sessions

To support applicants, we will be hosting online and on-site information sessions. These are informal opportunities to meet some of the team, to find out more about the role and the organisation, and to ask questions. They are designed to encourage applications and are not part of the selection process. There will be 3 or 4 members of the team, alongside other people interested in applying for the post or finding out more.

If you attend the online session, you can choose to have your camera on or off (but it would be great to meet you). The session will be captioned and with the chat function open for questions. Online session: 10am-11am on Friday 12 April 2024
