Northampton Museums & Art Gallery are embarking on an exciting period of change.
Our main museum is undergoing a major £6.8 million expansion and renovation project, doubling in size and creating new exhibition galleries, collections facilities and visitor amenities. Abington Park Museum, set in Northampton’s premier park, is undergoing redisplay and expanding its visitor facilities. The museum service is also investigating moving to Trust status with a view to increased flexibility and opportunities ready for the opening of the new museum in late 2018.
We are recruiting to a number of key posts to help shape our future and create a vibrant, engaging and sustainable museums service.
You will lead the development and implementation of the Northampton Museum & Art Gallery Interpretation Strategy and with the curatorial team, develop all interpretive content for the new museum. The post holder will be the NMAG lead with the architect and exhibition design contractor to deliver the interpretive scheme throughout the design and build process until opening to the public.
