National Centre for Craft & Design design brief

The National Centre for Craft & Design is the largest venue in England entirely dedicated to the exhibition, celebration and promotion of national and international craft and design.

In its 13^th year, NCCD continues to be a unique and ambitious gallery that exhibits the most innovative, challenging and accomplished craft and design artists practicing within the craft and design arena today. The concepts and themes from our exhibitions are used as the starting point for further investigation and engagement though a high quality public programme of learning and education opportunities including talks, workshops, curators’ talks, conferences, symposiums, clubs, groups, activities, lectures, seminars, screenings, professional development, short-courses, and public demonstration days.

Our shop is a visually stunning and inspirational area for demonstrating and selling the latest contemporary handmade product and our licensed café is a popular haven for local families and business people seeking a creative respite.

Specification

1. We are looking for a designer or design company to work with us to design our broad marketing mix, which includes:

• 3 seasonal guides
• 3 seasonal learning handouts
• 4 exhibition invitations
• Seasonal and special event posters and flyers
• Ad-hoc adverts

2. We also require the designer to work with us to cost, redesign, build and host a new functional website currently developed on a WordPress platform. A detailed brief for this work will be issued to the successful designer/ agency.

Fees and Schedule

All fees for the delivery of our design work will be paid through a monthly retainer.

A maximum budget of £2,500 is available for the redesign of our website. Hosting and ongoing development fees should be included in the monthly retainer.

A costed proposal for the design work and website development should be submitted, accompanied by your company profile including evidence of similar projects you have undertaken.

Interviews will take place Tue 28 Jun 2016. The successful designer/design company will start on Mon 4 Jul 2016.
