There is an opportunity for an artist to create a major public artwork, arising from the creation of a new Culture and Leisure Quarter for Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire.
The successful proposal will receive up to £50,000 to, design, create, and install an artwork, or works, that reflect both the site, and the wider context of the town’s culture, history and location at the heart of the National Forest. This includes the cost of all materials.
All materials considered, but must be robust and resilient to vandalism.
We are seeking expressions of interest from interested artists.
To be considered for the commission, please submit the following:
- A CV that highlights your experience in creating high quality public art work.
- Web links, images or documents that evidence relevant previous work.
- A proposal for the artwork you would create, which should include an outline of the concept, rough designs, proposed material(s), estimated time to create, and any technical requirements.
As part of the commissioning process, the successful artist will be able to showcase their proposal, and exhibit their other work at the Ashby Arts Festival in May, 2018.
