Without precedent and with immediate effect, society is endeavouring to understand, adapt, and evolve to a whole new concept: Social Isolation.
In this present world-wide crisis – where physical contact, day to day life, and community interaction is severely restricted – individuals are finding themselves in the new and startling reality of navigating a world of rapidly evolving social norms.
Street By Street aims to explore the personal and social geography of our neighbourhood. It seeks out creative, non-physical ways to navigate human connectivity and kindness in an effort to create a better picture of our community, to connect with those around us despite barriers, and to build stronger links for the future.
We are interested in proposals that, over a two-month period, remotely explore the concept of connecting people ‘street by street’ through creativity and innovation. The selected applicant will produce a body of work that investigates geographical areas in the context of the social and personal topography of those who live there.
Submissions are open worldwide and to arts collectives or researchers – anyone exploring the boundaries of art, technology, and social engagement.
Artist fee
- £2,500 – This includes development and delivery over the two-month residency period and any materials.
