Young People’s Programmer

We are looking for a Young People’s Programmer to join us for up to 9 months on a part time basis.

The Young People’s Programmer is responsible for the strategic programming, delivery and evaluation of the Gallery’s ‘Young Producers’ programme and outreach sessions for young people. This role will be specifically responsible for increasing youth audiences (particularly those who face barriers to access) and engaging young people in the decision-making processes of the Learning and National Programmes Department and across the Gallery as a whole.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with external partners (in particular youth community groups and service providers) as well as colleagues in Marketing, Events, Digital and Special Projects (Special Projects constitutes exhibitions, displays, collaborations, residencies and research that relates the Gallery’s historic collections to contemporary art and culture).

The range of activities produced for this audience will be innovative in approach and strategic in terms of meeting the Learning and National Programmes Department’s aims and objectives for youth engagement. The targets for this post will relate to increasing instances of youth engagement, the successful management of youth projects and an increase in the diversity of the young audiences currently engaging with the Gallery.
