In this age of immediate and widespread communication, Small Print International 6 takes us back to a time when personal, hand drawn correspondence was treasured.
For our sixth edition, we are inviting artists to create work inspired by the first Aerogramme, which was introduced into the Iraqi postal service in 1933 by the Inspector General of Posts and Telegraphs. Self-adhesive strips along the edges of the paper allowed it to be folded and sealed, and therefore private, without the added weight of an envelope.
Submissions for the exhibition are invited from artists working in any printmaking technique. Our definition of print is: an impression made by any method involving a physical transfer from one surface to another. We therefore would not accept digital/giclee prints.
Deadline for entries is 5pm, Tuesday, 24 March 2020
