Arts and Health Commissions

Clinicians from The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and the University of Wolverhampton have undertaken research interviewing female patients diagnosed with IBD and their partners. Funded by Crohn’s and Colitis UK, we have explored lived experiences of family planning amongst participants. We now seek to collaborate with an artists and designers to use our research to creatively reflect findings/ themes. We envisage the works will enable us to report and promote awareness in women with IBD (and partners) throughout all perinatal stages.

We will commission 3 graduates to undertake this exciting project, utilising support at Wolverhampton School of Art to make their work.

The Academic team will provide  anonymous, first-hand patient interview transcripts. They will also support  research and concept development stages, providing specialist knowledge of the condition and research findings

We seek to commission:

• An animator to produce a short film (approx. 1 minute). £5,000 fee (approx. 30 days’ work),
• A graphic designer to produce infographic poster/booklet Fee: £2,000 (approx. 14 days)
• A film maker to document the overall project. Fee: £2,000 (approx. 14 days)

Materials will be funded and work completed by May 2021.

The School of Art will host a virtual information evening of 11th February 2021. You will be able to meet researchers; be briefed on IBD and the research; ask related questions. We advise all interested to attend this briefing . If you would like to attend, please order a ticket via eventbrite
