Surface Gallery is pleased to invite you to Inside the Blobby Viscera, an exhibition by NTU Fine Art students.
Inside the Blobby Viscera is an exploration of the goopy, dripping, globular, bulging, flowing and swelling. Blobjects are fluid forms, soft, inviting and playful, but our human connection to them runs much deeper. We have a visceral response of attraction and repulsion to the liquid slicks and bulbous pods as we recognise them from structures within our own organic bodies. Intriguing alien textures entice our senses making us get closer to the goopy and fluffy forms. After experiencing a blobject it often leaves us questioning their uncertain origins. Do their globular exteriors have a further interior consciousness?
Inside the Blobby Viscera opens in the Project Space in conjunction with our annual Studio artist show A Multitude of Sins in the Main Gallery. As always there will be a donations bar with ales from local brewery, Pheasantry.
