The Hepworth Wakefield has welcomed over 2.3 million visitors since opening in May 2011 and is now firmly established as a major local, national and international attraction, winning Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2017. We present an outstanding programme of historical and contemporary exhibitions alongside displays drawn from Wakefield’s collection of 20th-century and contemporary art. In an expansion of our waterfront site, in summer 2019 we are opening outdoor sculpture displays in The Hepworth Wakefield Garden, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith. We value all our staff and their commitment to driving our success.
We are looking for a Curator to cover a period of parental leave due to start at the beginning of November 2019. The Curator supports the strategic ambitions of The Hepworth Wakefield by researching, devising and delivering a programme of world-class exhibitions and collection displays, and contributing to the learning and public programmes. The post also oversees the care, research and development of the Wakefield Permanent Art Collection and archive, held at The Hepworth Wakefield.
If you have a proven track record of working both independently and as part of a team to deliver a programme of exhibitions and events that are accessible and attractive to broad audiences, alongside significant experience of working in a public art gallery, then we would love to hear from you.
