De Montfort University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the School of Art, Design and Architecture – which brings together the key subjects of Design Crafts Product & Furniture Design, Interior Design, Fine Art, Architecture, and Photography & Video. The School incorporates undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD study with excellence in teaching, research and design consultancy.
You will have proven experience in HE teaching – with extensive knowledge and skills related to the craft practices of ceramics or glass; design, materials and craft processes. You will be expected to make a substantial contribution to the academic development of the Design Crafts Subject Area and engage in scholarly research. The role will encompass teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Teaching experience at HE level is essential.
You will be highly motivated and passionate about crafts and design, and the challenge of inspiring the next generation of makers. A commitment to working within the context of a team and building on the Programme’s successes is essential.
